Hooray For Hollywood

Have I ever mentioned my great love of Netflix? It's hard to believe that we ever had to go to an actual video store to pick out a movie. I prefer to wait for movies to come out on DVD, I like watching movies in the comfort of my own home. Unless the movie is Avatar, that you have to see in IMAX 3D.

What I've Been Watching

Inventive storytelling, great ending, and there's a dance sequence.

Johnny Depp is the best actor around. Period.

Yes, they sexed up the story, but there's also a lot of actual historical facts going on.

Undoubtedly a Quentin Tarentino product, best character was the SS Colonel.

Watching Bob Fosse dance with his real-life wife? Incredible.

One of the few movies that is as funny as everyone says it is, and Mike Tyson has a French Bulldog puppy.

Dances With Wolves with aliens and astonishing special effects.

  1. We have never tried Netflix, but then again we don't really rent too many movies. We will have to try it come summer.

  2. We did the Blockbuster version of Netflix once. It was a pretty sweet deal. But we stopped when dvd's kept turning up missing. It would show that it shipped, but we never got it. Thankfully we were never charged for any, but it just made us nervous so we discontinued. I've heard good things about Netflix though...so maybe we too will try that this coming summer. :)

  3. Avatar was OK, but only for the special effects. If you've seen Dances with Wolves or Pocahontas you know the story. Also the message is anti-corporate and anti-america, I'm surprised it did so well in the USA.

  4. The Hangover was funny ... once. I can't imagine why someone would want to own it, though I heard it was a top selling DVD.
