A Belated Valentine

Valentines Day came and went around here without much fanfare. I was sick (I caught a nasty virus in Disneyland, it was truly awful) and the kids just weren't into it. As you know from last year's post, Steve and I don't really do Valentines, so the day was a bust. Oh, well. I hope you had a nice holiday, or at least some quality chocolate.

Since the holiday is over I'm not really motivated to write about it, so I'm going to refer back to last year's list of things I love. There are two additions to the list this year; Gwen and my Kindle.

  1. This is my fault. I just think that out of all the corporate invented prove-you-love-me-by-buying-me-stuff holidays, or "Hallmark Holidays" as we call them, Valentine's Day is the worst: completely made up, totally commercial. I just can't do it. So here's my free non-valentine's day sentient: Love you! :)

  2. I agree with Steve that Valentine's is all about money. You shouldn't need a holiday to show someone how much you love them; it should be an every day affair. In our family we often spend Valentine's Day with the children. Our big celebration comes a week later when Mar-Kay and I go all out to observe the first day we met because that is really something special to commemorate.

By the way, I am glad your feeling better.
