Something that I didn't know before Dagny joined the high school choir -
They perform a lot.
And by a lot I mean all the time. It's a big commitment.
They perform, they compete, (4th place at Golden State) and they are awfully good. Dagny is part of the Women's Ensemble, which is all Freshman girls, and they sound amazing. I was one of the backstage chaperones at the Spring Concert and not only did I get to hang out and meet all of Dagny's friends, I got to sneak into the audience and watch while they performed. I will admit that I was moved, I really enjoyed it. I don't know if Dagny's future includes choir, so all the experiences she's had in choir this year are all pretty momentous.
I have a distinct lack of good choir photos. I wish I had a picture of the choir on stage, I'm going to get one before the year is out.

ReplyDeleteChoir was my life for many years as the children were growing up. I accompanied every concert, went on tours and was even the President of the booster club. I must admit I am a bit envious because Shantell's high school cut their choral program this past year. School is just not the same without the Fine Arts. I am glad that Dagny is enjoying choir and you too. Great pictures!
