Just for the record, I don't hate Valentines Day. I quite like all the cute decorations and sweet cards and celebrating with my kids. A holiday centered around love and chocolate is not a bad thing. What I don't like about Valentines Day is the pressure put on people (especially men) to make grand, expensive gestures in the hopes of satisfying the expectations manufactured by society. Why put all your romantic hopes on one day of the year simply because you're told to? I hate being told what to do (must be my authority issues) and I don't accept that February 14th is the ultimate day of love. I'm a big fan of the 364 days of the year when the love is simply just because.
Gorgeous and delicious

Those cookies do look delicious!
ReplyDeleteWe had a casual V-day yesterday. We simply spent time together. We didn't do anything special, or spend any money. I just took the day off so I could be at home with my kids and hubby. It was very nice!
Love your thoughs on Valentine's Day, and so glad you enjoyed the cookies!
ReplyDeleteAmen to these thoughts!
