My Funny Valentine

We are a bit unconventional in our celebration of Valentines Day. Steve and I don’t celebrate alone as a couple, we celebrate as a family. That decision was made many years ago and is due to our resentment that society and Hallmark get to decide when we are supposed to express our love for each other. The kids give us a reason to celebrate V-Day because kids make the whole silly holiday worth celebrating. I’m thinking we only have a few more years where the kids are going to hang out with us on V -Day, I’m going to enjoy it while it lasts.

  2. I really love the idea of celebrating Valentine's Day as a family. That is a neat tradition. And I will say that my husband and I did more for our kids this year than for each other. So I guess we are on our way to starting that tradition for our family. This year I was with my high school kids in Flagstaff for a Festival. My husband got to come as a chaperone, so at least I got to see him. And Shantell is in one of my classes, so she was there. Desiree also came out to see us while we were there...so it was a little mini-reunion. It was fun. Thanks for sharing your Valentine's tradition with us.
