Lost And Found

Guess who found this

and is no longer in this

Dagny wore a shirt today that she hasn't worn in awhile and casually reached into the pocket and pulled out her missing retainer.  It was one of those moments where you're not sure if you should just be happy that it's found or mad that she'd told you she had looked in all her pockets and that it wasn't in any of them.   I'm going to choose to be happy that the retainer was found, and that now I know where to start looking when she loses it again.

  1. Yay! It's been found! Its funny what you can sometimes find in the pockets of clothes you haven't worn in awhile...my favorite is when you find money...but really, that rarely happens to me!

  2. Just another case where you don't know if you want to hug your kid or strangle them ala Homer Simpson. Regardless, I'm very glad we didn't buy a new one! Finding the retainer after we replaced it would probably have been the last straw ...

  3. I am glad that the retainer was found. I have learned over the years that it is often in the least expected place when it comes to children. Of course Dagny is a little old, but then again she is a teenager.
After hours and hours of searching for our keys several years ago we decided to look in the trash can, not in our home, but the one outside. We didn't expect to find the keys, but we were desperate. Mar-Kay is the one who took the dive into the garbage and wouldn't you know it, there they were, thrown away by one of the children. We were so glad we got them before the trash had been picked up. One never knows with children. :)
